LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― Each year the California Science Center hosts an annual California State Science Fair where over 900 middle and high school students compete in a two-day event that recognizes the state's best student research projects.
Approximately $50,000 in cash prizes are awarded, plus additional awards and scholarships funded by private organizations and corporations. ~ video from the event can be seen on the CBS/KCAL News site.
I have been photographing the California State Science Fair forever, it seems. Pete Wilson was Governor of California when I first started. One thing that stood out to me this year... young women are embracing science in large numbers. My friends at NAWBO certainly like to hear this! Enjoy the sample.
